Are you serious about the health of your skin?
Are you serious about keeping it healthier and younger-looking for longer?
Rejuvenating your skin is easy when you’re using Environ Skincare, thanks to Dr Des Fernandes, the founder and leader of the skin’s most natural way of rejuvenating itself – Medical Skin Needling.
Great results can be achieved by using Medical Skin Needling because of the thorough research and the strict protocols that have been developed by Dr Des.
Unfortunately, there is so much saturation in the skin needling market that some companies have become lax in their protocols and research.
That’s why Environ has strict guidelines and protocols set in place by the creator of this method of skin rejuvenation.

So, you’ve probably heard of Collagen Induction Therapy, but did you know that Collagen Induction Therapy is just another name for Medical Skin Needling?
Medical Skin Needling can treat the following conditions:
- Scars from injuries
- Acne scarring
- Stretch marks
- Pigmentation
- Wrinkles
- Loose skin
- Fine Lines
By pricking the skin with the tiny needles on the rolling device we cause minor, non-invasive injuries on the skin. The needles that range between 1 – 1.5mm in length will cause the skin to bleed, the bleeding does not last long.
After the skin has been injured the repair process begins. This starts with the production of more new collagen and elastin.
It’s important for a dedicated Environ therapist to ensure that your skin is receiving the correct nutrition to prepare it, make sure you book in to see a therapist at least three weeks before you intend on starting needling. The nutrition is delivered through Environ moisturisers and serums, containing Vitamin A and C, peptides and antioxidants, which the skin needs to boost healthy collagen formation.
This treatment requires us to apply a topical anaesthetic so it is important that you eat a good meal prior to your treatment so that you do not feel nauseas during the treatment. Anaesthetic is necessary for this treatment as the needles go deeper, causing slight discomfort and bleeding. Bleeding is stopped by the platelets in the blood; they cause clotting at the site of injury, stopping the bleeding. Imagine pricking your skin with a little needle, it may bleed but stop quite quickly. It is the platelets that release growth factors in the skin, which are responsible for creating new collagen.
Platelets race to the injury site, releasing growth factors. The most important is the Transformative Growth Factor (TGF).
There are actually numerous growth factors that make an appearance throughout this process.
Firstly we have TGF – Beta 1 and 2, these two are responsible for healing normal wounds. They hang around a normal wound for about 2 weeks before moving on, this means that they can cause scarring. BUT with the small microscopic injuries they only seem to hang around for 24 hours, hence no scarring.
TGF Beta 3, this one is responsible for scarless healing and helping build up new skin tissue. Unlike the other TGF, this guy only hangs around for 24 hours after a normal wound is formed. But this TGF hangs out for about two weeks, hence no scarring.
Medical Skin Needling prompts the skin to heal itself, encouraging it to manufacture new collagen. You can’t get anything more natural than the skin healing itself.
It is necessary to have at least six Medical Needling sessions to be able to see the best results. It is important that these sessions are done weekly or fortnightly. After six sessions we give your skin a break and take more photographs so that we can track your progress. Skin Needling is appropriate for all skin types and can be done as many times as you wish. Your skin will only continue to benefit from it!
